WEST Coast will field a team in an expanded AFL Women’s competition by 2020.
The changes, announced by AFL chief executive Gillon McLachlan, include an expansion of two teams in 2019 with Melbourne and Geelong leading the charge.
West Coast will follow suit in 2020 along with Richmond, St Kilda and Gold Coast.
Hawthorn and Essendon both had their applications knocked back but could be added as early as 2021.
