ONE woman has reportedly been arrested during a protest in Perth against the Commonwealth Bank’s involvement in funding the Adani coal mine.

About 20 people gathered inside the Commonwealth Bank branch in Perth’s Murray Street, forcing the branch to close temporarily.

The action is designed to change the bank’s position on funding the mine ahead of a board meeting next Tuesday.

Work is scheduled to begin on the Adani Carmichael coal mine, in Queensland’s Galilee Basin, in September.

According to Twitter user ‘Luke’, who was at the protest, “one brave woman” was arrested by police.

Last week, protesters gathered at the bank’s Joondalup branch.
