Woman charged after a car was driven down steps at Elizabeth Quay

POLICE have charged a woman after she allegedly drove down stairs at Elizabeth Quay.

The woman drove the car down the steps at 6.40pm last night, while she had a two-year-old child as a passenger in the car.

The car got stuck halfway down the steps.

Police were called, and found the woman walking away from the car.

She allegedly assaulted one of the officers after they attempted to stop her, punching them to the head and kicking their legs.

The officer received scratches to the face and bruising to the face and legs.

The 46-year-old Thornlie woman has been charged with assaulting a public officer and will appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today.
