Woman charged over Mitchell Freeway crash in Leederville that left a 25-year-old woman dead

POLICE have charged a 24-year-old Yokine woman over a crash on the Mitchell Freeway in Leederville that left a 25-year-old woman dead.

The incident occurred on Sunday August 14, when a silver Mitsubishi Lancer allegedly travelled at nearly 90 degrees across the Mitchell Freeway from the right hand lane, hitting a Holden Colorado that was travelling in the left lane.

A 25-year-old female passenger in the Colorado was killed as a result.

The driver of the Lancer has been charged with dangerous driving causing death.

She is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on Friday September 30.

Major Crash investigators are seeking witnesses who may have seen the incident, particularly any witnesses that may have been travelling behind the vehicles prior to the crash.
