Woman punched in unprovoked attack

A MAN grabbed a passerby, pulled her hair and punched her in the face during an unprovoked attack in Perth CBD.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the attack on St Georges Terrace at around 4am on Saturday morning.

A spokesman for WA Police said the victim had a black eye after the assault.

“Perth detectives are seeking information from the public to identify a man they believe can assist with their investigation into an assault,” he added.

“A woman in her 40s was walking along St Georges Terrace when she was approached by man who pulled her hair and punched her to the face before running away towards the Mount Street footbridge.”

The man responsible is described as dark skinned, and was wearing dark pants and a dark jumper with a hood.
