Cr Hallet, who received 1546 votes, secured a position on council in the February extraordinary election.

Cr Topelberg, who was first elected in 2009, gained just two more votes than Cr Hallett.

Councillors will be sworn in tomorrow tonight at a special meeting.

Ms Cole congratulated the successful candidates.

“I’m looking forward to continuing to work closely with all council members, with Josh, Jonathan, Alex and Jo,” she said.

“All candidates who ran should be commended for stepping forward, running a good campaign and seeking to represent our great City.”
