WEST Perth’s first supermarket is on the way.

Woolworths has taken over Princess Margaret Hospital’s old parking lot, with a shopping centre and residential apartments on the cards for the site pending development approval.

The 12 lots making up the carpark have been sold to Fabcot Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of Woolworths Group.

“I am delighted to see this site, which is surplus to government’s requirements, being repurposed, following an open and competitive process,” Lands minister Ben Wyatt said.

“The successful proponent has put forward a proposal that aligns with our broader vision to reinvigorate the area and complement the neighbouring Subi East development.”
