Planning Minister John Day helped turn the sod on Monday to mark the commencement of the tower developments on the Wellington Street site.

The Leighton Properties development will see three towers, rising 19, 11 and nine levels, completed on the site by 2015.

Managing director Mark Gray said Kings Square would help link the Perth CBD with the Arena and Northbridge.

‘These first three buildings of Kings Square will be the catalyst for the revitalisation of Perth city’s heart ” the new Perth City Link urban precinct extending from the railway station and City Square to the new Perth Arena,’ he said.
