Yokine PS overrun by pirates with good intentions on Pirate Day Friday

Giovanni TorreEastern Reporter

YOKINE Primary School was seized by a swarm of small pirates this month, but rather than plunder the place, these pint-size privateers raised more than $400 for charity.

Pirate Day is an annual event at Yokine Primary and raises funds for childhood cancer research.

The job of counting donations raised by more than 300 students has been finished and the school was pleased to announce more than $400 was raised.
