Fire threat

I’M sorry for houses burnt down in NSW, but when shires, state and federal governments allow people to reduce fire fuel loads from near homes by felling trees and burning them, there will be less devastation each summer.

Firefighting pumps, training, concrete/metal rainwater tanks or swimming pools should be mandatory in fire-prone areas.

If not, I fear we will always have houses burnt down during summer. One or two days of training and $2000 worth of firefighting equipment costs less than a $500,000 house burnt down.

I praise the NSW firefighting men and women for their gallant effort but over such a big area what chance did they have?
