Heartfelt thanks

Janice TeoEastern Reporter

I HAVE been humbled by the army of 120,000 volunteers from across Australia who joined the Heart Foundation in the fight against heart disease by volunteering to collect or donating to our cause.

Sadly, heart disease affects one in six Aussie families, taking a life every 27 minutes.

We aim turn this around by continuing to fund lifesaving research, promote best-practice care for heart patients and effective prevention programs. However, we could not do this without the big-hearted Australians who took the time to support us this year.

For those who donated or collected be assured that every donation to the appeal will help us in the fight against heart disease.

Donations are still open and can be made at bigheartappeal.org.

As a charity, most of our funding comes from everyday Australians whose generous gifts are critical to helping us continue our lifesaving work as Australia’s leading evidence-based independent heart health authority.

For that, I say thank you from the bottom of my heart.

WA chief executive,
