Opinion: Citizenship test – any better ideas?

Does anyone have a better idea than Peter Dutton?
Does anyone have a better idea than Peter Dutton?

LET’S cut to the chase on Dutton’s proposal for a higher standard of English on the citizenship test.

If the government could come up with a (racially or religiously) non-discriminatory way of screening out undesirables while accepting far lower standards of English from immigrants who are not part of the undesirable group (whose members have proven themselves to be more likely to develop an active association with homegrown terrorism), it would.

If anyone has a better idea on how a liberal democracy can effectively stop the homegrown terrorism problem in its tracks, let’s hear it.
