Even better than cushions: the variable speed limit signs on Beaufort Street. To paraphrase Sir Arthur Conan Doyle: The curious thing is that the speed limit does not vary ” or certainly not in my experience. (I am not out and about at 3am.)

Now Councillor John Carey wants the expensive hi-tech solar-powered unvarying variable speed limit signs to be considered for Fitzgerald Street.

Why not? It’s only money.
