BROOKFIELD will build Chevron Australia’s Australian headquarters at 1 The Esplanade, Elizabeth Quay.

Brookfield has agreed to purchase the site on the corner of Barrack Street, develop a 29-storey multi-use tower with 54,000sq m of office floor space, exhibition spaces, a lobby and conference facilities.

The building’s lower levels will include childcare and gym space, with retail tenancies and cafes/restaurants on the ground floor.

Chevron has committed to lease about 78 per cent of the office building for a 15-year period in what is the largest current pre-commitment in the Perth market.

Chevron Australia managing director Al Williams said the company’s new headquarters would offer an unparalleled work environment for its talented WA team, with vibrant and diverse areas for community and business use.

Brookfield anticipates construction to start in mid-2020 with completion expected in mid-2023.

During the development and construction phase approximately 1000 people will be employed onsite.
