Cricket: Mt Lawley-Inglewood shows improvement but falls short against Belmont

MT LAWLEY-Inglewood’s One Day side had an improved showing on the weekend but it was not enough.

Belmont visited Hamer Park on Saturday and the Panthers restricted them to 7-190 from 40 overs.

Matthew Perella was the pick of the bowlers with 3-26 from eight overs.

David Coomblas took 2-34 from seven overs, and Ben O’Donnell kept things tight with 1-18 from seven overs.

Mt Lawley-Inglewood captain Richie Logan was the backbone of the Panthers’ chase, racking up 64 runs at the top of the order.

Fellow opener Leon Cooper (12) and O’Donnell, with 16 runs batting at number four, were the only other Panthers to get into double figures as Mt Lawley-Inglewood were rolled for 142.
