Football: Mt Lawley secures four-point victory over North Fremantle

Giovanni TorreEastern Reporter

THE Federal Election was not the only photo finish on Saturday, with the Mt Lawley Hawks clinching a thrilling four-point win at Gil Fraser Oval.

Mt Lawley beat North Fremantle 76-72.

The Hawks could have won more comfortably with four more scoring shots (11.10), but the more accurate North Fremantle (11.6) fought to the last.

This Saturday Mt Lawley returns home to Hamer Park to face ladder-leader Wembley.

The Hawks are currently third, but a win this weekend could see them leap into second spot if Melville can score an upset win over Whitford.

Mt Lawley is one of four teams sitting on eight wins this season while Wembley is two wins clear on top.
