Dylan Sharman top scored with 86, while James Newnham chipped in with 43 as the Hawks amassed a day one score of 7-274 from 90 overs.

It was a day of even contributions from the Mt Lawley batting line-up, with Shane Rakich (23) and Newnham putting on 69 runs for the first wicket.
Sharman was the mainstay and his 93-run fourth-wicket stand with Julien Goodall (37) put the Hawks in a strong position.
