PERTH Scorcher’s Big Bash hopes have been given a significant boost, with paceman Jhye Richardson expected to play against Adelaide Strikers on Thursday.
Richardson had missed the Scorcher’s last three games after being called up to the Australian one day squad.
However, selectors have released the bowler for Perth’s top-of-the-table clash with Adelaide, in what will be the WACA’s last Twenty20 game.
Richardson is celebrating a break-out season, having also been selected in Australia’s Test squad for their upcoming tour of South Africa.
He took 2-51 in his one-day international debut in Australia’s four-wicket loss to England in Brisbane last week.
While both the Strikers and Scorchers have secured a home semi-final, the winner of the clash shall secure top spot on the ladder, in addition to the right to host the grand final should they win their semi final.
