There could be up to 13,000 basketball fans in the house when Josh takes the court with his mates from the Stirling Senators under-12 teams this Friday, during halftime of the Perth Wildcats clash with Sydney Kings, for an exhibition game.

Josh snuck in an early practice last week with Wildcats captain Damian Martin.

The Ashdale Primary student said he would be looking to attack the basket during Friday’s game ” something Wildcats fans will be hoping Martin does frequently on the night, too.

The halftime opportunity for budding basketballers is a new concept at Wildcats games this season.

As sponsor of the halftime program, Hawaiian property group invites junior suburban teams to take part in the exhibition match during each Wildcats home game.

Hawaiian chief executive Russell Gibbs said the chance to play on the same court as their idols in front of a huge crowd was exciting.

‘We’re only at the start of the season, but already it’s proved tremendously popular and we hope it’s an experience these basketball stars of tomorrow will remember for a long time to come,’ he said.
