MT Lawley Hawks’ season is over after a loss in a WA Amateur B League elimination final on the weekend.

The Hawks, who finished the home and away season in fifth place, were defeated by fourth-placed Kingsway 14.7 (99) to 10.6 (66) on Saturday.

David Mckinlay kicked four for Mt Lawley, finishing a stellar season with 61 goals from just 19 games.

Sadly he was the only multiple goal-scorer for the Hawks who could not match the home team’s firepower.

Adam Mckinlay finished the season with 58 goals from 18 games for Mt Lawley.

In the other finals action, Whitford defeated Collegians by a point in the qualifying final at MacDonald Reserve.

Third-placed Collegians were desperately unlucky, kicking 8.10 (58) to the victor’s 9.5 (59).

Whitford earned the right to face ladder leader and flag favourite Wembley in this weekend’s second semi-final, while Collegians will play Kingsway in the first semi final.

The winner of the second semi final will get a week’s break and advance to the grand final, while the loser will face the winner of the first semi final in a preliminary final.
