GUSTAVO Catarcione’s hat trick on Saturday put Perth Soccer Club over the line to beat Inglewood United 4-2.

The club has moved within four points on the leaders in the National Premier Leagues WA.

The first half saw five goals scored as Catarcione and David Cyrus traded strikes, before Jordan De Leo and Catarcione scored either side of Mark Pritchard’s leveller from the spot.

The second period was just as enthralling, but the visitors had to wait until stoppage time to seal the result, when the former Balcatta and Bayswater man netted his 10th goal of the season.

Francis Soale blocked Adam Tong’s drive toward the near post before a fingertip save around a post denied Matthew Milenkovic for a second time in the half.

Tong blasted a free kick inches wide of a post before Blackmore picked up two yellow cards in the space of three minutes as the hosts went down to 10 men.

With the extra man Perth added some late gloss to proceedings as De Leo squared for Catarcione to complete his treble three minutes into stoppage time.

Inglewood coach Taki Nicolaidis admitted that the better team won on the day.
