NPL WA: 3-2 win over Glory sends Inglewood United back top after recent ‘hiccups’

INGLEWOOD United’s recent “hiccups” are a memory following its 3-2 win over Perth Glory at Inglewood Stadium on Saturday.

The win put the team back in top spot of the National Premier Leagues WA.

Ahead of the match, coach Taki Nicolaidi said there “was a hiccup in the last three weeks” but had confidence.

Nic Talimdzioski commenced scoring for Glory before John Migas, Josh Pereira and Kenny Keogh secured the win for Inglewood; Glory’s Jack Iredale was on target with a late consolation goal.

Inglewood demonstrated their physical superiority in the second half.

After 72 minutes, Keogh extended the lead with a quality finish.

Despite the win, Inglewood assistant coach Saul Contera was not happy with the side’s defensive display.

“I am pleased with the result but not with our defending,” he said.

“We gifted them two goals; there is a lot of team spirit and self-belief in our team. We can now look forward to next week’s game.”

Perth Glory coach John Gibson admitted his team suffered from the Inglewood corners.

Inglewood faces Bayswater City this Saturday at 3pm at Inglewood Stadium.
