Perth on song with straight away wins

Still smarting after being knocked out of the Cool Ridge Cup by Cockburn City on Easter Monday, and dropping two points at home to a late equaliser against Inglewood United the previous Saturday, Perth burst out of the blocks early.

Stand-in skipper Ashley Rosindale opened the scoring in the fifth minute, slotting the ball into the back of the net after a nice pass from Aden Da Luz.

Mark Doninger then doubled the advantage five minutes later firing home from long range.

Nick Ambrogio scored on the break in the 37th minute to make it 3-0 and effectively seal the victory for Perth.

The rain made conditions difficult for both sides and the second half provided few highlights.

Perth dominated most of the possession and put in an improved performance at the back than in recent weeks, where the defence conceded six goals in the past two games.

The victory saw Perth climb back into second place on the NPL ladder, still seven points adrift of runaway leaders Bayswater City, which have won all of their seven matches.

The Under 18s and Under 20s both continued their perfect starts to the season, recording 3-1 and 8-0 wins over Armadale respectively. Perth will be looking to make it five away wins in a row when they take on ECU Joondalup on Saturday.
