Players get a Swede deal

The soccer tournament costs $3650 to send players to so the PSC boys are fundraising and the team’s parents and committee members have been helping them in their efforts.

Bell has been playing soccer since he was four-years-old and made the Football West state team last year as goalkeeper.

He said he was very excited at the opportunity to travel to Europe.

‘I have been to Europe before with my family but not to Sweden, so I’m very excited,’ Sebastian said.

James has been playing since he was four and said he is ready to go to Sweden.

‘It will be my first time travelling overseas and I’m looking forward to it,’ he said.

James is an all-rounder, playing forward and defence and Sebastian is the team’s goalkeeper.

The under-14 team will take 14 players and Bell and Fanelli have raised funds by knocking on people’s doors, approaching local businesses or through fundraising at local barbeques.

Team manager Domenic Fanelli will be chaperoning the team and he said he was excited to watch them play.

‘It’s the first time the team has gone overseas, they have gone interstate before but this is our first major tournament in Europe,’ Fanelli said.
