Premier Cricket: Mt Lawley batting collapse hands victory to Melville

Julian WrightEastern Reporter

MT Lawley has suffered yet another batting collapse to hand victory to Melville at Breckler Park in round 12 of Premier Cricket on Saturday.

Chasing 327 for victory, the Hawks were struck down by the powerful Storm bowling attack which was too hot to handle, bowling them out for 130 before staving off outright defeat.

Mount Lawley began well with 32 for the first wicket, before James Newnham’s dismissal prompted the struggling side to lose three more wickets with the score on 42 to dismantle their run chase.

Jay Chislett was the best of the hosts’ batsmen with 35, in an otherwise disappointing outing.
