Premier Cricket: Mt Lawley shows fight but falls short against Freo

MT Lawley showed some fighting spirit on day two but went down to a classy Fremantle at Stevens Reserve in their Round 13 Premier Cricket clash.

Dylan Sharman was the star on Saturday scoring an unbeaten century, while Shane Rakich found some form with 76.

Resuming at 2-45, 58 runs behind, Mt Lawley ended 6-264, preventing the Port Boys from an outright victory.

Chris Chellew was again the pick of the bowlers with 2-92, taking his tally of wickets to nine for the match.

The match was one of only three which resumed on the second day, with rain affecting the other contests with play abandoned.

Mt Lawley is 12th on the ladder with two rounds to play.
