Soccer: North Perth finish season with 6-2 dismantling of Fremantle Croatia

Giovanni TorreEastern Reporter

NORTH PERTH United finished the Amateur Premier Division season on a high on Sunday with a 6-2 belting of Fremantle Croatia.

The big win at Woodville Reserve left North Perth ten-points clear of third-place Wembley Downs, but yet another win to Gwelup saw the league leaders finish six points clear on top.

Despite being tenth on the ladder, Fremantle had been competitive this season, on average scoring one goal and conceding 1.9 goals per game before the big loss to North Perth.

It was a strong season for North Perth, winning sixteen games and losing only three.

North Perth played with flair and dash this season, putting 95 goals past their opponents in 19 games, while conceding 28.

They were streets ahead of every team in the Division bar the remarkable Gwelup Croatia SC, who won 18 of 19 games and scored a whopping 114 goals, with their miserly defence allowing just 0.63 goals per game on average.
