Soccer: Perth Glory women’s undefeated start to W-League ended by Newcastle

Giovanni TorreEastern Reporter

PERTH Glory Women’s strong start took a hit over the weekend with a 1-0 loss to Newcastle.

It was a admirable performance on the road against one of the league’s strongest teams.

Glory had 54 per cent possession and enjoyed a better rate of passing accuracy than the home side, but could not breakthrough Newcastle’s defence.

Perth had more shots on goal than the Jets, but Jennifer Hoy made it count by finding the back of the net in the 48th minute.
