Super Netball: West Coast Fever ends season with disappointing 26-point loss to Melbourne Fever

MELBOURNE Vixens secured top spot on the Super Netball ladder beating West Coast Fever 68-42 at Perth Arena on Saturday night.

Head Coach Stacey Marinkovich said there was a lack of execution in attack during the game and the scoreline was a disappointing end to the year.

Captain Natalie Medhurst failed to dominate against the strong Vixens defence scoring just three goals from seven attempts and was replaced by Kate Beveridge after half time.

Beveridge got five from five while Kaylia Stanton converted 34 goals.

Medhurst returned to the court as wing attack in the final quarter.

The Vixens, who will play Sunshine Coast Lightning in the major semi final on Saturday in Melbourne, dominated from the start scoring the first three goals of the match.

The visitors increased their lead to 10 goals at half time and were eventual 26-point winners.

Giants Netball will play Magpies Netball Club in the minor semi final on Saturday in Sydney.

Fever finished the season seventh on the ladder.
