Team sport excites sisters

Sara Fitzpatrick, Guardian ExpressEastern Reporter

Sixteen-year-old Madeleine Dennis has made the School Sport WA (SSWA) State Basketball team, competing in the championships in Perth from August 17, while younger sister Dimity (14) has been selected for the SSWA volleyball team, touring Brisbane for competition from August 16.

Madeleine is also part of the under 17s Basketball Australia squad and Dimity is a reserve in the Basketball WA State Team.

The Mt Lawley Senior High schoolers say their talent comes from their mum, dad and grandparents who share their sporting prowess.

‘I love the team sport aspect of basketball and how it is very fast paced,’ Madeleine said.
