MOUNT Lawley lost both games to Willetton and South Perth in the double round over the weekend in Premier Cricket.
Mohamed Ijaz reduced South Perth early on Sunday at Breckler Park with three wickets, however the Sky Blues crawled to 160, before being bowled out.
James Newnham continued his impressive form that saw him named in the team of the year last season to score 60, however his side fell eight runs short, ending up 9-152 from 50 overs.
On Saturday, Mount Lawley ran into Willetton’s rampant Matt Hanna, who ripped through their top order to leave the side all out for 94 at Burrendah Reserve.
Earlier, Willetton had posted 7-167 from 40 overs. Newnham top-scored again with 34 for the Hawks, but it wasn’t enough as the side fell 73 runs short of their target.
