WACA Premier Cricket: Mt Lawley downed by Gosnells

Julian WrightEastern Reporter

MT Lawley remains anchored at the bottom end of the Premier Cricket table after another disappointing display against Gosnells in round five.

Resuming at 5-51 at Breckler Park on Saturday, Mt Lawley struggled at the hands of Luis Reece, as it was bowled out for just 134 in reply to Gosnells’ 193.

Gosnells’ English import Reece took 4-31 in a devastating display to clean up the tail.

Justin Kandiah tried hard for the hosts who were 9-101, scoring 37 not out from 110 balls.

Kandiah combined with Mohamed Ijaz (20) to restore some respectability to the total.

Gosnells batted again, making 2-124 from 39 overs, with Ijaz taking both wickets late in the day.

Mt Lawley remains 15th on the table with only a struggling University side sitting below them.
