WACA Premier Cricket: Mt Lawley still searching for win after defeat to Perth

MT Lawley’s winless streak has continued after another disappointing display against Perth in Premier Cricket on Saturday at Breckler Park.

Several Mt Lawley batsmen were unable to convert starts into big scores during the round 7 match.

Chasing Perth’s 9-348, the home side began well with a 63-run opening partnership, before regular wickets quashed any chance of victory.

James Newnham scored 52, while Shane Rakich scored 24, as the side could only manage 158.

Perth returned to the crease to finish 4-47 at the end of play in a small positive for the Mt Lawley side with Justin Kandiah taking two wickets.

The Hawks play Rockingham-Mandurah in round 8 before the Christmas break.
