WACA Premier Cricket: Mt Lawley well placed against Rockingham-Mandurah

MT Lawley is well placed to claim its first win of the Premier Cricket season after an impressive opening day against premiers Rockingham-Mandurah at Lark Hill on Saturday.

Justin Kandiah took a brilliant six-wicket haul to bowl out the Mariners for 239 after the hosts had won the toss and elected to bat on a warm day.

Kandiah finished with 6-61 while Jay Chislett also contributed well, taking 3-44.

In reply, the Hawks are well placed at 1-118 after 25 overs, with James Newnham (51n.o.) and Callum Taylor (53n.o.) setting a quick pace.
