UNBEATEN South Fremantle outclassed East Perth in round three of the WAFL last Friday.
East Perth started well with two goals each to Fraser McInnes and Tom Lamb in the opening 14 minutes but South Fremantle Bulldogs’ Ben Saunders went on to kick five goals in 11 minutes before quarter time.
With no wins under their belt in the 2016 season, the Royals came within eight points but the Bulldogs kicked the final four goals to win by 40 points.
Steven Edwards was also a standout for South Fremantle with three goals, 17 touches and five tackles.
The Bulldogs’ Haiden Schloithe got an impressive 34 possessions, nine tackles, seven marks and a coal while Ashton Hams had 32 disposals, Steven Verrier 21, Tim Kelly 19 and Shane Hockey 19.
Lamb ended with four goals for East Perth with Craig Wulff, McInnes and Matthew Allen adding two each.
After an ankle injury, Chris Masten returned strongly with 28 possessions despite limited game time.
Lamb also finished with 23 touches, Kane Lucas 22, Callum Hart 21, Patrick McGinnity 19 and Mark Hutchings 18.
Peel Thunder (third on the ladder) host East Perth on Saturday at 2.15pm at Rushton Park, Mandurah.
South Fremantle 16.13 (109) defeated East Perth 10.9 (69).
