WAFL: Sharks in ominous form

EAST Fremantle returned from the bye in great form, notching up a 50-point win over West Perth in round four WAFL action at East Fremantle Oval.

The Sharks were out of the blocks early and despite being outscored in the second term, were too strong in the second half, running out 14.17 (101) to 7.9 (51) winners.

Brett Peake kicked three goals, while Liam Anthony gathered 34 disposals and put the ball inside 50 five times.

West Perth had seven individual goal kickers. Aaron Black tallied 28 disposals.

Elsewhere, injury-plagued utility Anthony Morabito made a successful return in Peel Thunder’s 30-point loss to East Perth at Rushton Park.

Morabito recorded 23 disposals, six marks, two tackles and four inside-50s.

His efforts were not enough to get the Thunder over the line, with the Royals putting through six final-quarter goals en-route to a 15.14 (104) to 11.8 (74) win.

Albert Dean gathered 21 disposals and booted two goals to help Swan Districts notch its first points of the season on Sunday, a six-point win over Claremont.

The Swans held on 13.5 (83) to 10.17 (77).

Subiaco moved to 4-0 after accounting for Perth 14.9 (93) to 4.19 (43).
