Terry was selected to represent Australia at the European Junior Golf Championships to be held in Gullane in May.

The selection follows a successful 2012 Junior Gold World Masters in Las Vegas where Terry finished in 19th position.

He is now hoping to win the European championships, or at least finish in the top 10.

Terry picked up the sport when he was four years old by playing it on his Wii game console.

His father, Chris, noticed Terry’s natural talent and signed him up as a member at the WA Golf Club in Yokine. The lad now regularly plays 18 holes against men on the weekend.

Chris said consistency was the key to Terry’s chances.

‘Some of the kids Terry will compete against will be a bit older than him, which will give them a benefit in terms of power and strength,’ Chris said.

‘But Terry is very good at chipping and putting, so hopefully those skills will see him finish in the top 10.’
