Bilbies bring easter fun for families

Lynn GriersonHills Avon Valley Gazette

Children and adults can play bilby bingo, investigate bilbies versus bunnies and explore the discovery centre with a bilby hunt to top off the fun.

Kanyana is part of a nation-wide bilby breeding program to preserve the genetic diversity of the threatened species.

More than 100 bilbies have been born there since 1996 and distributed throughout Australia to other breeding facilities, zoos and release sites. Kanyana education manager Cass Rowles said Binang joined the team last year.
