PICKERING Brook StoneFruit Festival is seeking sponsors for a juicy new event early next year.
The Pickering Brook Sporting Club initiative will provide growers with an event to showcase stone fruit varieties from local orchards.
Co-ordinator Vanessa McNair said she hoped the festival would become a major annual attraction in the Perth Hills to celebrate the region’s growers and quality produce.
The main elements of the festival will include a flavours of summer kitchen stage with WA celebrity chef Anna Gare, Sophie Budd, a former chef de partie at Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall restaurant in the UK, and Tom O’Toole, founder of Beechworth Bakery.
Other attractions to draw in crowds will include Taste the Hills featuring local wineries and Core Cider House, gourmet food vendors and local produce stalls. Visit www.stonefruitfestival.com.au.
