Aquatic centres open for summer

Bilgoman Aquatic Centre will open next Saturday and Mt Helena opens on October 28.

Shire President Helen Dullard said the facilities provided relief for thousands of visitors from the summer heat.

While lifeguards were on duty at both aquatic centres, parents and guardians were still responsible for knowing where their children were are all times.

‘The safety of all patrons at the aquatic centres is the Shire’s top priority,’ Cr Dullard said.

‘It is important that parents and guardians remain vigilant around water. All children under five years of age must have an adult in the water with them.’

Swimming lessons for children aged five and above, as well as adults, are available at both aquatic centres.
