FINE art paintings of birds by an award-winning Kalamunda artist will highlight the work of two lesser known charities.

Artwork donated by Sally Edmonds will raise funds for Working Spirit, which helps veterans find civilian jobs, and Tiny Sparks, a support for families of premature babies.

The artist said she discovered painting became an outlet of self expression after she experienced severe depression.

“I almost see my life as having two halves, before the depression and after it,” she said.

One of Sally’s creations.

“I love sharing my work; I put a little piece of myself out there with every artwork.”

WA Governor Kim Beazley will open the Army Art exhibition on August 24 at Leeuwin Barracks in East Fremantle.

The artwork will be on show until August 26.

Tickets for the opening night are available via Sticky Tickets.
