A PACKED program of entertainment has been organised for this weekend’s annual Avon Descent Festival at Fishmarket Reserve in Guildford.
Swan Mayor Mick Wainwright said the festival was great fun for the whole family.
“Visitors can meander around the reserve to experience the Artonomy Art Trail, take part in circus workshops, or head to the Swan Valley marquee for cooking demonstrations and giveaways,” Cr Wainwright said.

Midland/Guildford ward councillor Ian Johnson said people could choose to be active or just enjoy the picturesque location and watch the race.
“Onstage we will have entertainment from Beat Walkers Dance Crew, Miss Red’s Lasso show, Ricochet Circus, Josephine and Goggles and Belle Harvey,” Cr Johnson said.
“Around the reserve there will also be pirate and fairy story telling and lots of goods for sale in the Rotary Artisan Markets.
“Or you can simply lay back on a picnic rug and soak up the atmosphere as the boats come flying past.
“There is something for all ages and all entertainment is completely free.”
The festival comes alive from 10am to 3pm on Sunday, August 7.
Limited parking is available around the event space, so visitors are encouraged to catch the train and make the most of our free shuttle bus which runs from the Guildford Train Station to the event site.
