Beechina fire cause still unknown say police

THE cause of a fire that burnt through 2ha in Beechina last Saturday is still unknown.

The fire started at Great Southern Highway near the Great Eastern Highway intersection and caused the closure of Great Southern Highway from The Lakes Roadhouse to Horton Road.

A Shire of Mundaring spokesperson said the first brigades were dispatched to the fire at 12.40pm.

Eight Mundaring shire volunteer brigade units, water bombers, the Mundaring Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service, Department of Parks and Wildlife and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services responded to the fire.

WA Police arson squad investigators attended the site however the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
