IF you have ever wondered what species of birds are regular visitors to your garden or local reserve, you can find out more at a Birds in Your Garden workshop.

The workshop on Saturday, November 4 from 9.30am to 12.30pm, will be hosted by Rachel and Mike Green from the Darling Range Branch of the WA Naturalists Club .

The knowledgeable duo own a property in the Hills which received ‘Land for Wildlife’ status because of the number of birds recorded at the property.

At the workshop, the Greens will show what to look for when identifying various birds and discuss food sources, birdbaths, bird perches, bird boxes and how to care for birds.

Mr Green will share the secret art of “bird shushing”, which he claims encourages them to move closer towards him.

Attendees are invited to bring along photos of birds they have spotted in the area and would like to know more about.

To register contact Shire of Mundaring on 9290 6651 or email ruthbroz@mundaring.wa.gov.au by 30 October.
