EASTERN Hills Senior High School students are the first winners of a new interschool sports championship.
The inaugural Boccia school carnival on Monday was held to encourage sport for athletes with a disability.
WA School Sport and Boccia WA teamed up to organise the event for students from state and independent schools.
After several rounds, Eastern Hills players competed in a close finish to win the Boccia Tournament.
The school’s A-team prizes included a trophy and a set of leather indoor Boccia balls.
Spokeswoman Nerissa Garwell said Eastern Hills students demonstrated excellent sportsmanship throughout the event.
