“We may have a duplicate copy, or it was donated to us or we are clearing space for new stock.

“The State Library of WA is trialling an alternate way of disposing of discarded stock, resulting in the decision to hold a sale.

“All proceeds from the sale of books will enable the libraries to purchase brand new stock.”

Cr Lavell said there would also be a range of toys for sale.

“There will be a large quantity of toys such as trikes, puzzles, blocks, indoor and outdoor toys, which are suitable for children up to eight years old,” he said.

“All proceeds will go back to Swan View Toy Library.”

The cash-only book and toy sale is in Greenmount on January 30, from 11am to 2pm in Greenmount Hall, on the corner of Scott Street and Great Eastern Highway.
