CRIME squad detectives assisted by Mundaring police seized drugs and explosives in a raid on a property in Mt Helena on Wednesday morning.

Detective Senior Sergeant Tony Booker said the investigation and search warrant resulted from community concerns about people in the neighbourhood profiting from dealing in illicit drugs.

He said officers found about 290g of cannabis and more than $1500 in cash, along with some illegal fireworks.

A 49-year-old man and his 37-year-old wife will appear in Midland Magistrates Court on January 31 charged with intent to sell and supply cannabis, possession of explosives and drug paraphernalia.

Police are appealing for anyone with information about the sale and supply of illicit drugs to call Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
