State Electoral Commissioner David Kerslake said all Western Australians should check their enrolment is up to date at www.elections.wa.gov.au or by calling 13 63 06.

"To qualify for State and local government elections, Western Australians must complete and sign their own enrolment form," he said.

Mr Kerslake said that while voting at local government elections was not compulsory, it was important that people have a say in who represented them on their local council.

"Id like to go further and encourage more people to consider standing for local government," he said.
