On April 25, 1888, Mr J.H. Monger, of Faversham House, laid the foundation stone for the historic building.
On August 22 of that year, the Reverends Thomas Bird and William Lowe conducted the first service there.
The church was built from local donated stone and has architectural features that are typical of the 19th Century gothic revival style, including lancet windows and arched doorways.
