A PROGRAM that supports City of Swan businesses and volunteer groups is growing weekly.

Membership Action Division Network project leader Mathew Merson said 50 businesses and 24 volunteer organisations had signed up to the Customer Attraction Program and Membership Rewards Card.

“The program has been well received by both businesses and community groups, with numbers growing each week,” he said.

It is run by the network, City of Swan, Swan Chamber of Commerce and Community Newspaper Group, and encourages volunteers to shop locally by receiving discounts and special offers.

“(It’s) a terrific program that supports local business and community volunteer groups to meet their objectives, for business – more customers – for community groups – more members – and in turn active volunteers,” Mr Merson said. “The more people who participate in a program that demands little of them, the more effective the collective efforts of all become.”
